Why does LEDAS invest in social contribution?

One of the four pillars of the LEDAS mission is responsibility — to patients, staff and the wider community. For a clinic that treats a condition closely linked to physical work, long hours on your feet and ageing, that responsibility naturally extends to people who may not be able to look after their legs on their own. Social contribution is how LEDAS puts this pillar into practice outside the treatment room.

What is the #LedasChange project?

#LedasChange is the clinic's flagship community program. It provides centralized assistance to the most vulnerable groups in society. Bringing support together in one program allows the clinic to coordinate help with partner organizations rather than offering scattered one-off donations.

Does LEDAS offer free or charity vein treatment?

Support through #LedasChange and partner organizations is arranged case by case and changes over time, so LEDAS does not advertise a standing free-treatment offer. If you or someone you care for is facing financial hardship and has symptoms of vein disease, please contact the clinic or a local welfare organization to ask what support is currently available. In Korea, some costs may also be covered by National Health Insurance for eligible policyholders — see does insurance cover varicose vein treatment?

How does LEDAS support children?

LEDAS supports Dream Tree, a children's organization. Support for young people reflects the clinic's wider belief in investing in the community's long-term health and opportunities.

Why does a vein clinic support sport?

Movement is one of the best things you can do for your leg veins. Every step you take squeezes the calf muscles, which act as a pump to push blood back towards the heart. LEDAS's sports partnerships help promote active, healthy lifestyles in Busan and the wider region:

  • K-League: support for Korea's professional football league.
  • Ulsan Hyundai FC: a social partnership with the football club.
  • Lotte Giants: Social Contribution Days held with leading player Min Byungheon of Busan's professional baseball team.

Simple habits make a difference, especially for people in standing or sitting jobs:

  1. Walk at a moderate pace every day.
  2. Raise your legs above heart level when resting.
  3. Avoid staying in one position for long periods.
  4. Limit very salty, high-calorie food and long saunas.
