Hospitalization & Ward Stay at LEDAS
Quick answer: Hospitalization at LEDAS is a same-day ward stay, not an overnight admission. You are admitted, have an ECG and a pre-operation ultrasound, receive laser and injection treatment under local anesthesia, learn to wear compression stockings, walk while nurses monitor you, and are discharged the same day. No guardian is required.

- 7 ward steps: admission, ECG, pre-op ultrasound, treatment, stocking training, monitored walking, discharge.

Do I need to stay in hospital for varicose vein treatment?
Not overnight. LEDAS treatment is minimally invasive: local anesthesia only, no incision, and no rehabilitation needed afterwards. You use the clinic ward for part of one day so the team can prepare you, treat you and watch your recovery, and then you go back to your hotel or home. Read same-day discharge explained .
What happens during the ward stay?
- Admission. Registration and consent, with your coordinator interpreting.
- ECG. A quick heart tracing to check that treatment is safe for you.
- Pre-operation ultrasound. The doctor marks the veins to be treated.
- Operation and injection therapy. EVLT and sclerotherapy under local anesthesia.
- Compression stocking training. Nurses show you how to put stockings on and take them off.
- Monitoring with walking exercises. Walking soon after treatment supports circulation.
- Discharge. You leave with aftercare instructions and a treatment certificate.

Hospitalization – frequently asked questions
Will I stay overnight at LEDAS?
No. Admission and discharge happen on the same day. You use the ward to prepare, be treated and be monitored while you walk, then return to your hotel or home. You need your own accommodation for the rest of your stay in Busan; coordinators can help you book.
Why do I need an ECG before vein treatment?
An ECG is a quick, painless heart tracing. It helps the team confirm that treatment under local anesthesia is safe for you and gives a baseline in case you feel unwell. It is a standard part of the LEDAS ward process.
Can I eat on the day of treatment?
Because only local anesthesia is used, long fasting is not usually needed, but follow the specific instructions your coordinator gives you. Outside food is not allowed on the ward, and drinks are available at the lounge mini-bar.
Can I leave the ward for a short walk outside?
No. Patients may not go outside during their stay on the ward. You will walk inside the clinic as part of your monitored recovery. After discharge, gentle walking outdoors is encouraged. See can I walk after treatment?
