Contacting LEDAS – frequently asked questions
Can I speak to someone in English?
Yes. The international line, +82-70-4895-5086, is for English consultation, and international coordinators also interpret in Russian and Chinese. Other languages can be arranged through the coordinator. Medical statements are issued in Korean or English. See interpreter and language support.
Do I need an appointment?
Booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially if you are travelling from abroad, because the clinic closes on Sundays and every 2nd Wednesday and Saturday. Contact us by form, phone or email and a coordinator will confirm a time. Check opening hours and closed days before you travel.
Can I get advice before I travel to Korea?
Yes. You can request an online consultation, and patients in Mongolia, Russia, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, China and Kyrgyzstan can use one of 12 remote consultation centers. A final treatment plan is only made after an in-person ultrasound in Busan. Read about online consultation.
What should I send with my consultation request?
Tell us which leg or legs are affected, your main symptoms, how long you have had them, any previous vein treatment and your current medicines, especially blood thinners. Previous ultrasound reports are helpful if you have them. Avoid sending more personal data than needed.
What if I have sudden leg swelling or chest pain?
Do not wait for a reply to a form or email. Sudden swelling and pain in one leg, or chest pain and shortness of breath, can signal deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Call your local emergency number (119 in Korea) immediately. Learn more about DVT.
