About LEDAS · Editorial Standards
Medical Content & Editorial Policy
Quick answer: LEDAS medical pages are written in plain English from the clinic's own clinical practice and well-established vein medicine, then reviewed by Dr. Kim Byoung Joon, a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon. We avoid unverifiable claims, never publish invented statistics or testimonials, show a review status and date on every page, and correct errors promptly.
Key facts at a glance
- Medical reviewer: Dr. Kim Byoung Joon, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, founding member of the Korean Society for Phlebology.
- Sources: LEDAS clinical practice and well-established vein medicine (phlebology).
- Review status: shown on every page as “Pending” or “Reviewed”, with a last-updated date.
- No invented content: no made-up statistics, reviews, testimonials or patient stories.
- Legal compliance: follows Korean medical-advertising law — no “best”, “No.1” or guaranteed-cure claims.
- Not a diagnosis: information only; treatment is decided after an in-person exam.
Why does LEDAS have an editorial policy?
People make health decisions based on what they read online. Many of our readers are international patients who are planning to travel to Korea for treatment and cannot easily ask a doctor in person. We want every page on this website to be accurate, honest and easy to understand. This policy explains how our medical content is written, checked and kept up to date, so you can judge how far to rely on it.
Who writes and reviews LEDAS content?
Writing
Pages are prepared by the LEDAS team using the clinic's own clinical protocols, equipment information and patient guidance, together with well-established principles of vein medicine. Content is written in plain English for a general reader.
Medical review
Every clinical page is reviewed by Dr. Kim Byoung Joon , director of LEDAS. He is a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, trained at Pusan National University, who has focused on varicose veins for over 22 years and is a founding member of the Korean Society for Phlebology. The “About this page” box shows the reviewer, the review status and the date the page was last updated. “Pending” means the page has been written but medical review is not yet complete.
What sources do we use?
- LEDAS clinical practice: how diagnosis, treatment and follow-up are actually carried out at the clinic.
- Established medical knowledge: widely accepted principles of venous anatomy, disease and treatment, such as the CEAP classification and duplex ultrasound as the standard test.
- Official and verifiable facts: accreditation periods, awards and clinic counts are stated exactly as recorded.
We link to authoritative external organizations only when we are certain of their official address, and otherwise link to our own explanatory pages.
What will we never publish?
- Invented statistics, studies, success rates or recurrence rates.
- Fake or unverifiable reviews, testimonials, quotes or patient stories.
- Superlatives we cannot verify, such as “best”, “No.1” or “only”.
- Promises of a guaranteed cure, “100%” results or “painless” treatment.
- Prices without the reminder that an exact quote follows your ultrasound.
- Images of identifiable people other than LEDAS's own staff and facility.
Korean medical-advertising law restricts superlative and unverifiable claims, and we apply the same standard to English content.
How do we describe treatments we do not offer?
LEDAS treats varicose veins with endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) and sclerotherapy. On comparison pages such as EVLT vs RFA and EVLT vs VenaSeal , other methods are described neutrally and fairly, and we state clearly what LEDAS does and does not provide.
How do we handle numbers and conflicting information?
Where earlier materials gave different figures, we use one verified set consistently: over 22 years of varicose vein practice, more than 20,000 varicose vein procedures (a milestone reached in 2022), and 29,847 patients treated and 47,831 patient visits (clinic counters, 2026). Prices are stated as the first visit fee (180,000 KRW) and an average treatment cost of about 5,500,000 KRW per leg depending on stage, with an exact quote after ultrasound.
How often is content updated?
Pages are reviewed when treatments, equipment, prices or accreditations change, and at least periodically as part of our routine content review. The “Last updated” date shows the most recent revision.
How can I report an error?
If you find something inaccurate or unclear, email kbjledaspm@gmail.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We will review it and correct the page if needed. For concerns about your own care, please see patient rights and complaints .
Is this website a substitute for medical advice?
No. Our pages explain general information. Your diagnosis and treatment plan depend on an in-person examination, including duplex ultrasound. If you have sudden chest pain, breathlessness or a painful, swollen leg, contact emergency services. To ask about your own legs, start with an online consultation or read about when to see a vein doctor .
Our content standards
| Standard | What we do | What we avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | Use clinic practice and established vein medicine | Invented statistics or studies |
| Honesty | State verifiable facts with dates | “Best”, “No.1”, “only”, “guaranteed” |
| Transparency | Show reviewer, review status and update date | Anonymous, undated medical claims |
| Fairness | Describe other treatments neutrally | Disparaging other methods or clinics |
| Cost clarity | Give known fees and say an exact quote follows ultrasound | Fixed promises without examination |
| Safety | Explain warning signs and when to seek urgent care | Minimizing risks |
Editorial policy – frequently asked questions
What does “Review status: Pending” mean?
It means the page has been written by the LEDAS team from clinic practice and established medical knowledge, but Dr. Kim Byoung Joon has not yet completed his formal medical review. Once reviewed, the status and date are updated. The content is still general information, not personal advice.
Why don't you show patient reviews or success rates?
Korean medical-advertising law restricts testimonials and unverifiable claims, and success rates depend heavily on how they are measured. Rather than publish numbers that could mislead, LEDAS offers follow-up ultrasound every 1–2 years so your own results can be checked directly.
Is LEDAS content sponsored by device makers?
No. We name equipment such as the Philips EPIQ Elite ultrasound and Diotech 1940nm laser because they are what the clinic uses, so you know exactly what to expect. We do not accept payment for mentioning products on this website.
How do I suggest a topic or report a mistake?
Email kbjledaspm@gmail.com with the page address and your comment. The team reviews all reports, and medical corrections are checked by Dr. Kim before the page is updated. Thank you for helping keep our information accurate.
