Who will care for me at LEDAS?

LEDAS is a specialist clinic, so the team is deliberately small and focused. Your diagnosis and procedure are carried out by Dr. Kim Byoung Joon . Around him work registered nurses who handle preparation, monitoring and education, and international coordinators who look after communication and logistics for patients from abroad. Because the same people see you from first scan to follow-up, you are not passed between departments.

What do the nurses at LEDAS do?

All LEDAS nurses are registered nurses (RNs). In a vein clinic, nurses do much more than take blood pressure. On a typical treatment day they:

  1. Admit you and check your health history, medicines and allergies.
  2. Run the ECG (heart tracing) done before every procedure.
  3. Prepare the treatment room using the clinic's infection-control steps.
  4. Assist Dr. Kim during laser treatment and sclerotherapy.
  5. Fit your medical compression stockings and teach you how to put them on and take them off.
  6. Walk with you after treatment and watch how you recover.
  7. Explain your aftercare instructions before you are discharged the same day.

You can read the full day in our hospitalization and ward stay guide.

Why nurse training matters in vein care

Compression stockings only work if they fit and are worn correctly. Walking after treatment helps blood flow in the deep veins. Recognizing early warning signs needs trained eyes. These are nursing tasks, and they have a direct effect on comfort and safety. LEDAS nurses also take part in the clinic's regular safety training and CPR certification.

What do international coordinators do?

International coordinators are your point of contact before, during and after your trip. They:

  • Interpret medically in English, Russian and Chinese, and arrange other languages through the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation when needed.
  • Help you send previous scans and records before you travel.
  • Help arrange airport pick-up , accommodation and flights.
  • Stay in touch after you go home, pass questions to Dr. Kim and book your next check-up.

Medical statements can be issued in Korean or English. Learn more on our interpreter and language support page.

How is the team trained for emergencies?

Vein procedures under local anesthesia are low-risk, but a responsible clinic prepares for the unexpected. At LEDAS:

  • All staff are trained and certified in CPR.
  • The attending physician is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • An automated external defibrillator (AED) is kept in an easy-to-reach place.
  • Every employee knows their role in the clinic's fire-response plan.

See the full list on our patient safety and infection control page.

How does the team keep standards consistent?

LEDAS has held Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for four consecutive cycles. JCI surveyors review roughly 1,200 items covering patient safety, infection control and quality of care. Many of these are team behaviors: how patients are identified, how medicines are checked and how hands are cleaned. Regular refresher training keeps these habits in place.
