What happens at the clinic, step by step?

1. Arrival and registration

LEDAS is on the 12th floor of the Yeonggwang Book building on Seomyeon Medical Street, about a minute's walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 9 (Lines 1 and 2). See directions and parking . Reception staff or a coordinator will check you in and help with forms.

2. Changing

You change into shorts in a changing room. The waiting area is separate from the treatment area and has leg rests.

3. Consultation

Dr. Kim Byoung Joon, a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon who has focused on varicose veins for over 22 years, asks about your symptoms, family history, work, pregnancies, medicines and any previous vein treatment. He also looks at your legs and skin.

4. Duplex ultrasound

Before scanning, you are shown how to read the monitor so you can follow your own exam. You then stand on a table LEDAS designed for standing-position vein scans, and Dr. Kim examines your veins on Philips EPIQ Elite equipment. He checks blood-flow direction, speed and valve function, using brief calf squeezes to reveal any reflux . This takes about 15–20 minutes.

5. Explanation and options

Findings are explained in real time, in plain language. If reflux is present, you will learn which veins are involved, the stage of disease, and which treatments fit: typically EVLT , duplex-guided sclerotherapy and/or sclerotherapy . If you have no significant reflux, you will be told that clearly.

6. Quote and scheduling

If you choose treatment, you receive an exact quote and can schedule a date. Treatment averages about 5,500,000 KRW per leg depending on stage. Korean National Health Insurance policyholders should check with the international coordinator, as some costs may be covered.

Can I have treatment on the same day?

Sometimes. Because LEDAS treatment uses local anesthesia only, with no incision and same-day discharge, international patients with limited time can often be scanned and treated within a short stay. This depends on your findings, health and the clinic schedule, so arrange it with the coordinator in advance. See how many days do I need in Korea?

What if I'm nervous?

That is very common. The first visit involves no needles or procedures, only conversation and an ultrasound probe with gel. You can bring a companion, ask as many questions as you like, and take time to decide. A coordinator can interpret every step.
