Instead of offering many unrelated services, the clinic concentrates on diagnosing and treating varicose veins, spider veins, prominent hand veins and related conditions such as Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.

It is led by Dr. Kim Byoung Joon , a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon trained entirely at Pusan National University. He is a founding member of the Korean Society for Phlebology and a lifetime member of the Korean Society for Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery.

What treatments are available at the Busan clinic?

Diagnosis

Every patient begins with a duplex ultrasound exam , done standing on an examination table LEDAS designed for this purpose. It takes about 15–20 minutes, and the doctor explains the images to you in real time.

Treatment

  • EVLT : a hair-thin laser fibre closes the main leaking vein from the inside.
  • Duplex-guided sclerotherapy (DGS/UGFS): ultrasound-guided injection into hidden veins.
  • Sclerotherapy (SCT): injection into visible spider and reticular veins.
  • Hand-vein foam sclerotherapy, KT-syndrome management, a re-operation clinic and medical compression stockings.

All procedures use local anesthesia only, with no incision, and patients are discharged the same day. LEDAS does not offer radiofrequency ablation or vein glue.

Why does accreditation matter when choosing a Busan clinic?

Accreditation is an outside check that a clinic meets defined standards. LEDAS has been accredited by Joint Commission International for four consecutive cycles, a review covering about 1,200 items including patient safety and infection control. It also holds Korea's KAHF accreditation for clinics serving foreign patients and GHA accreditation. Learn more on the JCI accreditation page.

Who comes to the Busan clinic?

Patients come from across Busan and the south-east of Korea, from other regions such as Seoul, and from abroad. The clinic has welcomed patients from 37 countries and runs 12 remote consultation centres in 7 countries. An international team helps with interpreting, airport pick-up and hotels.
